Saving...
180 Tuesday August 16th 1887 I was at home sewing on my dress all day and Mother was fixing bedding we had washed. I feel better with my stomach. Wednesday August 17th 1887 I sewed all the forenoon to finish my dress and as soon as we had dinner Mother and I drove to the valley. We found the girls at Aunt Ellens. We were caught in a slight shower coming home. Will hauled another load of wood from the valley today Thursday August 18th 1887 We washed this morning and Mother went to town to the old settlers picnic before dinner. Will was hauling straw and we went over late in the afternoon. Grand-ma came to make a visit. Friday August 19th 1887 We were working in the fruit all forenoon and Lizzie did a large ironing. Fanny and Hattie were over all afternoon. I got my old brown dress pressed ready to work at. Saturday August 20th 1887. Mother and Grand-ma were gone over to Hatties all day. I worked making preserves and putting up tomatoes all day with the exception of a little time I went to town with Will to select a suit of clothes. I was tired and went to bed early. Sunday August 21st 1887 Will and I drove to the valley early in the forenoon and spent the day at Aunt Ems with some of the Dentons. We had a very pleasant day. After we came home Will took Grand-ma down to Uncle Jims. The folks were all over in the afternoon. Monday August 22nd 1887 I was busy about the work and doing baking all the forenoon. Soon after dinner Mother and I went to town and did some trading before going up to the picnic at the frat-house. It blew up cold but we had a very pleasant time. Tuesday August 23rd 1887 I went to town early this morning for some things I needed and came right back and began sewing on my dress. I worked at it all day and in the evening. Wednesday August 24th 1887 I sewed all day Mother was in town in afternoon. Will finished hauling straw from the valley. I had a letter from Charlie.
