181 Thursday August 25th 1887. I gave the house a good cleaning up and got things ready for dinner. Mother had company. The girls came over in the afternoon. I sewed a little, wrote to Charlie about our going to Ill. It rained quite hard in the evening. Friday August 26th 1887 I finished my dresses and fixed my old lawn and cut out a dress for Mary. Mother went to town in the afternoon and from there on down to Stevens to a social. The boy we have had working for us all summer left today. Saturday August 27th 1887 We did a big days work, washed and ironed some things cleaned up Charlies room for a new boy we got to work for us while Will is away. I went down to Halsons and over to town in the afternoon. The folks all came over to stay a week. Sunday August 28th 1887 It looked like rain so we all put in the time about home. It was so cool that a fire was pleasant. After dinner Will and I drove to Aunt Ems and brought home a basket of eggs. Some of the folks went to the west farm. We read all evening. Monday August 29th 1887. I fixed my lawn dress and did some other things in the forenoon and after dinner Hatt and I went up to the cemetery and cleaned the lot up nicely. We stopped in town to do some errands on the way home. The evening spent at home. Tuesday August 30th 1887 I helped with the work all the forenoon and talked with the girls Will went to the valley and brought home sweet apples.Lizzie and I worked in the fruit all the afternoon and Mother went to the fair. Will was out too. Hattie does not feel very well. Wednesday August 31st 1887 I went to town with Fanny in the morning and worked the whole day baking and putting up fruit. Mother, Fanny, Ott, & Will to the fair Thursday September 1st 1887 The folks all went to the fair. Lizzie washed today and I was busy all day helping with the work and getting our things ready Will and I packed our trunk in the evening.
