Saving...
184 Saturday September 17th 1887 We started from Delavan about nine oclock, got our dinners in Peoria and made a call there on some relatives of Duncans. We started from there at four oclock and reached home about ten. The boy was at the depot and soon after we got home, went to bed as we were very tired. It was two happy weeks we had. Sunday September 18th 1887 I was most of the forenoon unpacking my trunk. Mother went to the valley to stay till tomorrow. I got the dinner as Lizzie went to church. Will was away looking after the cattle the boy had let get out. The afternoon him and I spent in looking over our prospect for happiness in the future. There seems to be some discouraging prospects ahead of us that can only be grieved over but not helped. I wrote all evening. Monday September 19th 1887 I went to town in the forenoon and met Mother who came up from the valley this morning. In the afternoon I wrote some and Will and I drove over town after supper and out to Hartsocks to inquire about the cattle. Tuesday September 20th 1887 We washed today and I cleaned the rooms up stairs some in the afternoon. Mother was in town in the afternoon. Wednesday September 21st 1887 Lizzie did part of the ironing in the forenoon. I was going to sew on Mothers dress but she was taken suddenly sick that I sent for the doctor for her. Hatt was over a part of the day. We sent word to Father that Mother was sick Thursday September 22nd 1887 I gave the lower story a good cleaning up in the forenoon and knit what spare time I had. Hattie was over in the afternoon I rode over town with Will of an errand. Mother was up part of the day. I sewed some on Mothers dress Friday September 23rd 1887 I was busy about the work while Lizzie finished the ironing. I knit some and sat with Mother for company Late in the afternoon I took Hatt home in the buggy as she came over with Aunt Mary & Winnie. Ott was over to stay all night. We talked till late.
