Saving...
187 Tuesday October 11th 1887 I was sewing all my spare time on Mothers dress. Lizzie and she did the ironing in the forenoon and Mother went to town in the afternoon. Weather not so pleasant as yesterday. Will hauled wood from the valley for the boarders. Wednesday October 12th 1887 Will took Mother and I to the valley today to Aunt Ems quilting party. We had a splendid time the only draw-back was that Fanny did not feel well enough to enjoy it. Will and I brought her home with us and Mother rode with Hattie. Mother did not come on home tonight. Will traded the bay team to Frank Stockman for his blacks and gave forty dollars and old harness besides. Thursday October 13th 1887 I let May go to the valley this morning with Will as he went for wood. Us girls washed curtains and got ready to clean house. Will took me over town to get some things in the afternoon. Mother has gone down to Uncle Jims to stay all night. Friday October 14th 1887 We ironed and worked at house-cleaning all day long Will helped us put up the stove in the sitting room after he brought a load of wood that he sold in town. Lizzie went to town a little while just before supper, went to bed early Mother got home. Saturday October 16th 1887 I put the dining room carpet down in the forenoon and put up curtains while Lizzie gave the parlors a good sweeping I worked on till three oclock to finish up the house cleaning. I went over town with Will in the buggy. I stopped to see how Fanny was as she has been sick since Wednesday. Mother went over after I came back but was only gone a few moments. Will went over town after supper. I felt so badly that I went to bed early. Sunday October 16th 1887 I was busy about the house all the forenoon. Will and I took a ride in the afternoon, and was at home reading in the evening. Monday October 17th 1887 I went to town early this morning. The girl cousins were all at Hatties for dinner. Mother came over in the afternoon and we came back together. Will was gathering corn today. Weather pleasant for work.
