Saving...
194 Thursday December 1st 1887 It was a gloomy drizzling day. I finished Mothers dress and worked some on my mat in the afternoon and evening. May stayed over to Hatties all night. Will ordered a new over-coat through Trone & Taylor of Delavan. Ott is 28 today Friday December 2nd 1887 It is still cloudy but Mother spent the day in town. I worked all day and all evening to finish my mat. Edith came home with Mother to stay all night. Will to town in evening Saturday December 3rd 1887 I put in a good part of the day with cleaning up the house and doing baking. I fixed a white apron for Edith and put new backs in a pair of pillow cases. A steady rainy day. Sunday December 4th 1887 It was a sharp cold morning. We all went over to Hatties for dinner. They were very much worried over the fact that Mr Thomas got his leg broken while trying to get of the train five miles below town. It was nearly night when we got home and I read all the evening in "Little Dorrit" and went to bed early Monday December 4th 1887 It was a splendid day. We did a large washing and Mother went to town soon after dinner. Will went to a sale but did not buy any thing he got home at three oclock and went with me to town to look at over-coats as one came from Chicago that he did not like I went with Mother to get her a new bonnet she stayed over town till late bed-time. I was very tired and went to bed early Tuesday December 6th 1887 I was busy about the work and getting Mothers things ready while she went to town this forenoon. She got home at noon and as soon as we had dinner Will took her trunk over and I got her other things ready to go. She walked to town and started at four oclock for Topeka. The Carneys went with her as far as Kansas City and they go on to California for the winter. Will went after mill feed and when he came back we went out to Sangsters for a pup he is to get but did not get it. We drove over town and did not get home till supper was ready. I read in the evening Weather very pleasant for the time of year.
