Saving...
197 Tuesday December 20th 1887 It was snowing this morning. The boys went home for their Christmas vacation. Fanny went with Willie. I did not let May go to school. I finished ironing in the forenoon and worked in the rags in the afternoon and evening. The storm grew worse toward night. Wednesday December 21st 1887 It was a very cold day I was busy about the house nearly all the forenoon and sewed carpet rugs in the afternoon and read in Little Dorrit in the evening. Thursday December 22nd 1887 I let May go to school today. I got dinner and sat down in the afternoon to cut up some old things to make a lap robe for the sleigh. In a little while Father and Mother came. I talked with them and worked on till time to get supper Will went to town in the evening Ott came over to stay all night Weather more pleasant. Friday December 23rd 1887 It stormed again today I intended to go to town but could not so worked on my lap robe. Will sent the money for his coat today. Saturday December 24th 1887 Will took me over town in the sleigh to do some shopping in the forenoon I left the things at Hatts. I worked on my robe in the afternoon and read in Little Dorrit all evening Sunday December 25th 1887 It was a beautiful Christmas day. We all went over to Hatties in the big sleigh and stopped for Aunty Walker. We had such a pleasant day all to our-selves, and all got pleasant reminders of the day. Will got a box of envelopes & cigars and shoes and over-shoes. I got a wooden tray and a large cake bowl a set of patent irons a scarf for my head a box of fine soap and a ten dollar gold piece. Monday December 26th 1887 Will helped us do a big washing in the forenoon and we went down to see how Lib Stevens was in the afternoon, and found her very sick Lee and Hatt went too. I wrote to Lizzie in the evening
