198 Tuesday December 27th 1887 It was such a cold and stormy day. I was busy working on my lap robe whol-time I had from the house work. Wednesday December 28th 1887 It was an intensely cold day. I helped about the work and finished my lap robe. In the evening I was knitting Thursday December 29th 1887 The weather more pleasant today We got the clothes from the garret and finished drying them near the fire and got most of them ironed. I knit in the evening. Friday December 30th 1887 It snowed all day long we were late getting up but washed some things and put them in the garret. I knit in the afternoon and evening Will went to town in the evening. Saturday December 31st 1887 I was busy doing baking all the forenoon and in the afternoon Will took me over town in the sleigh. I did considerable shopping and was at Hatts while. She and Fanny were over here early in the afternoon. I wrote and figured up accounts in the evening Will was over town Sunday January 1st 1888 I was busy about the work all the forenoon. The folks were all over for dinner and we had liskey(?) cooked. We were visiting all afternoon. I read in the evening. Monday January 2nd 1888 Weather quite cold today but Will went to the timber for a load of green wood. We were busy about the work most of the forenoon. I finished the lap robe in the afternoon. In the evening Will Chalfont and Eugene Hart were here. The men folks played cards. Tuesday January 3rd 1888 Mother and I were all the forenoon getting the clothes dried ready to iron which we did the first thing after dinner. Late in the afternoon Will and I went down to Uncle Jims to make a short visit. We came home about eight oclock The sleighing is very nice.
