201 word from the valley and sold the last load to Jeff Bright. Will and I went to town in the afternoon. I saw Lizzie and she will no go to Burlington to work. I wrote to Charlie before supper. Will went to town again after supper. Friday January 20th 1888 It was a very cold day. May did not go to school till noon. I worked about the house the entire day. The boys moved the piano out for me in the evening. Hattie came and took Father over there to stay all night. Mother came up there from the valley today Will sold three steers for $45.00. Saturday January 21st 1888 It was a very cold day. I was busy about the work all day. Will did not go to town after supper, he was down to Uncle Jims for straw in the forenoon. Sunday January 22nd 1888 It was a very cold day I was busy about the work all day Father and Mother came home in the afternoon and Will and I went to church in the evening. Monday January 23rd 1888 I ironed in the forenoon and in the afternoon went to town we got some groceries and the tickets for the theater. I stayed to Hatts till after supper and we met Will at the drug store and all went together the play was "The Ivy Leaf" and it was very good indeed. Weather more pleasant. Tuesday January 24th 1888 We did the washing this forenoon. Mother went to town after dinner and Will and I went out to Sangsters in the sleigh and from there over to town. I drove home and Mother rode with me. Weather colder in the afternoon. Wednesday January 25th 1888 It was a cold stormy day. I moved things back in my own room and sat up there in the afternoon and evening. Thursday January 26th 1888. Father and Mother went to town today. I was busy with the work. Will went and got the meat of the beef he had killed yesterday, he sold some to Charlie and some to Sangster, he went to town awhile in the evening I was knitting what spare time I had.
