Saving...
206 Thursday February 23rd 1888 I was busy about the work all forenoon. Aunt Mary came and took Father down there and Mother went in the afternoon with Uncle Jim. Aunty is going to visit Minnie tomorrow and Mother will keep house for her while away. I worked about the house nearly all afternoon. Will is oiling harness. Wrote to Charlie at night. Friday February 24th 1888 I hurried through the morning work so I could help Will weigh the meat and put it in the brine. As soon as that was done I got dinner. In the afternoon we cut up some more meat made a little lard and cooked some stuff for chickens. The men were oiling harness in the summer kitchen. Saturday February 25rd 1888 It turned cold last night and today was a regular blizzard I was at work about the house nearly all day. Will went to town in the forenoon but spent the rest of the time at home. I knit a little in the evening and we went to bed early. Sunday February 26th 1888 It was a cold wintry day. I was busy all the forenoon doing the work. I read some in the afternoon and evening. John Stevens was here for a dress for Mother. Monday February 27th 1888 It was still very cold today. I did not have washing done but was busy doing some baking and fixing the sausage meat I watered the plants in the afternoon and knit a little. Tuesday February 28th 1888 I had the washing done in the forenoon and I worked about the kitchen most of the afternoon finishing up the work and fixing things for supper. I knit some in the evening. Wednesday February 29th 1888 It was a pleasant day I was busy about the work all forenoon and cut out some aprons and sewed a little in the afternoon I had a note from Hatt which I answered. Thursday March 1st 1888 I had lots of work to do today, got part of the ironing done and found extra house-work to keep me busy all afternoon. I read in the evening, and went to bed early.
