211 Wednesday March 28th 1888 We began house cleaning this morning by taking things out the sitting and dining rooms. The boys cleaned the paper of the wall and a man fixed the ceiling in the afternoon. Us girls did quite a washing. I read a little in the evening. Maud and Pet both had colts. Thursday March 29th 1888 Mother did the ironing while May and I cleaned up the boys room up stairs. The paper was put on the dining and sitting rooms. I kept working all day and was very tired when night came I read a little and went to bed early. Lee is 26 years old today. Friday March 30th 1888 Us girls washed some more this forenoon. May scrubbed the long porch and I changed the linin on the stairs. In the afternoon I put down the sitting room carpet and cleaned out the library and put a stove there. After supper Mother and I oiled the dining room floor. Will went to town in the evening. Saturday March 31st 1888 Mother ironed some more this morning I was busy all forenoon putting up curtains and cleaning up the house. May and I cleaned up the silver after dinner and then I went to town Will and I selected some border for the rooms that we had papered as that is not put on yet. I changed Mothers plates for her. We went down to Hinmans and settled the grocery bill to date. I helped get the supper over after I came home I was very tired but knit a little in the evening Hatt, Ott & Fan were over in the evening to play cards and John came to go back with them. Weather more pleasant. Sunday April 1st 1888 I was busy about the work all forenoon. Mother went to church and May stayed over to Hatties till after dinner. I was out in the lot by the barn some after dinner to watch Will doctor the sick colt. The folks were over late in the afternoon. I read some in the evening and went to bed early. Monday April 2nd 1888 I was working about the house all forenoon. I cleaned up Mr Chrismans room. I went to town in the afternoon. I got some stuff for Wills shirts. I was tired and read a little in the evening.
