Sunday July 29th 1888 It was an intensely hot morning but Will and I went up to look at the Stimmel timber. We dont want it. I slept and talked with Will all afternoon. The folks and Mr. & Mrs Clute called in the evening. May had the children over all day. Lee was up most of the day. Monday July 30th 1888 We had help with the washing and got it done by ten oclcok. It was a very warm day. I was working all afternoon doing some mending and rolled up the clothes ready to iron in the morning. weather very warm at night. Edith is seven years old today. Tuesday July 31st 1888 I ironed some and went to town before noon. Will took me over in the buggy. I sewed a little in the afternoon. The girls were over from Hatties and Mollie Stevens was with them for supper and to spend the evening. George and Sue came on the ten train from the east. Wednesday August 1st 1888 We were busy about the work all forenoon and I talked with Sue in the afternoon. George and Will went to the valley to make some calls and Mother went to town We visited on the porch all the evening. Thursday August 2nd 1888 We took an early start to the valley and took dinner at Aunt Ems and supper at Aunt Ellens and did not get home till nine oclock. It was a very warm day but we did have a splendid visit. Friday August 3d 1888 We took an early start again and went down to Aunt Lindas for dinner and back to Aunt Libe to supper. It was late when we got home and we had spent a most pleasant day. Saturday August 4th 1888 I went to town with Will this morning and I met Uncle George who expected his sister and others on the noon train and had no way to take them out. I had him send them over here and mother and I got up dinner for them
