they went to the valley the middle of the afternoon and Sue and I went over to Hatties for supper. George had the head ache and could not go with us. Fanny brought us home in the buggy after supper. Sunday August 5th 1888 I was busy about the work part of the forenoon and wrote a little. The folks were all over in the afternoon and we got supper after they went home and spent the evening on the porch. weather quite warm. Monday August 6th 1888 We did the washing in the forenoon and I got out my bead waist and worked on it in the afternoon. Mother was in town till after supper. Will was selling corn today. Tueaday August 7th 1888 I worked all the time I could spare on my waist. Will took George and Sue to the valley in the forenoon and hauled corn in the afternoon. Weather threatening rain. Wedneaday August 8th 1888 We ironed this forenoon and I got some time to work on my waist. Will was hauling corn till three oclock. He hitched up and took sue to town. We called at Eugene Korls to see his folks and from there to Halsons for berries. We worked till late putting them up and [churning?] weather cooler. Thursday August 9th 1888 We washed some more this morning and had an early dinner. Mother and I went over to see Aunty Holmes as she expects to start home tomorrow. Mattie Oustatt started home today. I came home about five oclock. Will began cutting the hungarian grass today. he paid Mother fifty dollars on the rent. Friday August 10th 1888 It was a rainy morning so we got a late start with the work. I ironed some and May finished. I wrote a letter to Charlie. Mother went to town in the afternoon and found Aunty Holmes was gone home and Aunty Walker was quite sick. I worked on my waist and got a great deal more done this week than I expected.
