Saturday August 12th 1888 It was a pleasant day. Will done some errands for me in the forenoon and worked all afternoon at cutting grass. May was over in the morning and brough Edith home with her. They were all gone to town in the afternoon. I put in a full day on my waist. Mr. & Mrs Comey were here in the evening and we played cards. Will was in town Aunty Holmes started home this morning with Mary O.Neil Sunday August 12th 1888 It was a delightfull day. clear and cool. We got our work done up in the morning in good time. Mr. & Mrs Lucas & Mrs Smith spent the day here and we had a very pleasant visit. The folks were over just before night for a short stay. Mother and Father were over to Auntys after supper. Monday August 13th 1888 It was a very pleasant day. Mother and May were in town to see the show parade. Will finished cutting the grass today. We sat on the porch in the afternoon to listen to the show music. I worked all day on my bead waist. Will went to town in the evening. Tuesday August 14th 1888 We washed this forenoon but it looked so much like rain that I brought the clothes from the line and put them in the garret. It rained all afternoon. I worked on my waist. Will was in town. Joe left today. Heavy rain tonight. Wednesday August 15th 1888 It was still rainy this forenoon. Will took the sewing machine apart and cleaned it. Mother went to town in the afternoon and Will was over to Halsons. I worked on my waist all day. Thursday August 16th 1888 I put a comfort in the frames this morning and we quilted it out and put another one in before supper. George McCallister and Elmer Anderson were here for dinner and Ott brought Mr. Free for a call in the afternoon. Father and Mother were over to the state fair grounds to the old settlers picnic in the afternoon. Will was out work stirring the hay to dry after the rain.
