Saving...
Wednesday October 17th 1888 It was a pleasant morning we were all about the work all forenoon. I got time to write a short letter to Vene. As soon as Mother and I ate our dinner we went to town to do some trading and went to Hatts where we met Mrs. Patte & Mrs Stettman. Minnie & Mr Showers were there too. I came home in a drizzle about five oclock. Mother stayed all night. I helped get supper and Will helped me dress chickens he did not go down town. Thursday October 18th 1888 We got a nice dinner today and Mrs. Fletcher came about eleven oclock and as Lizzie was not with her I got Will to go after her before dinner. Mother came about [five?] in the morning and Hatt was with her. Fanny came in the afternoon and we had a good days visit. Lizzie stayed all night. Will went to Lucas cattle sale in the afternoon. Friday October 19th 1888 It was a chilly day. We helped Adda with the work some and knit and visited with Lizzie. Will took her home about four oclock. I did not feel well, went to bed early. I wrote a letter to Mary Woolf today. I had one from Maggie Stuart. Saturday October 20th 1888 I was busy till two oclock helping with the work. Mother went to town in the morning and did not get home till afternoon. Mr. Showers and Minnie were here for a call. Mr. Browns Father, Mother, and little sister came at five oclock to stay over Sunday. Spent the evening talking with them. Will went to town. Sunday October 21st 1888 I was busy all forenoon helping Adda get the dinner. Mother and the Browns went to church. It was a rainy afternoon and evening so we spent the time talking at home. Monday October 22nd 1888 Adda washed some thngs in the afternoon. Mother went to town in the afternoon with the Browns when they went away. I was helping with the work most all day.
