Tuesday October 23rd 1888 I was busy all morning about the work as we got the things ironed that we washed yesterday. Adda went to town in the afternoon and Mother and I were busy at home. Wednesday October 24th 1888 We washed again this forenoon and late in the afternoon Will took me over town to order groceries. Mother went over to Hatties to stay all night.I heard tonight that Mr. S. S Howe died at the hospital this morning. Thursday October 24th 1888 Mother came home this morning. We got the ironing done before noon. She went back to Mr. Howes funeral in the afternoon that was held at the Presbyterian church. Friday October 26th 1888 I started to got to town this morning to find Mr. Pottle who I heard was in town and met him and his mother coming over, he went back with me to get Hatt & Fan for a visit. They were all here to dinner and we had a pleasant visit. Mother went to town late in the afternoon to go to see Mrs. Trowbridge as we hear he husband is dead. Saturday October 23rd 1888 We expected Maggie Scott to sew but she did not come Fanny was over all day and I went home with her to stay till after supper and went up town to see the Democratic parade. It was very fine. Will did not come over till after supper. weather very nice. Sunday October 28th 1888 It was a pleasant morning and Will and I went to church to hear the new pastor Mr. Paratt. As soon as we ate dinner we started out for a ride and was down to Uncle Jims and up to the cemetery. Monday October 29th 1888 I got the home all cleaned up and Will took me over town before noon to visit at Hatties with the Pottles. he come for dinner. Mother come in the afternoon and I come back home with her. It was a delightful day and we had a pleasant visit. I worked a little in the eve, and I went to bed early.
