Thursday November 29th 1888 It snowed just a little last night and Will did not husk corn today. The folks were over to dinner and we spent a very happy day. I sewed a little on Mothers dress and in the evening read and talked with Will in our room. Friday November 30th 1888 I sewed very steadily on Mother's dress today. The men were husking corn all day. weather more pleasant. Was tired and went to bed early. Saturday December 1st 1888 I did some baking this morning after helping with the work. Mother went to town for meat for dinner. Adda went with her Aunt for a days visit at noon. Mother and I got the dinner over and I finished her dress. I worked all evening on my stand cover. Will had headache. They got done husking corn on the Songster land [the following is written in the right margin of the above entry] Otts birthday. Sunday December 2nd 1888 Mother and I were busy all the forenoon with the work. I moved things around in my room and Will moved the piano in for me. He was over town awhile in the afternoon and I read and wrote some. I read all the evening. Monday December 3rd 1888 It was a gloomy morning but by the time Adda come at ten oclock it had cleared of and as we had the work all done she went at the washing. The girls were over all afternoon. I worked on my stand cover. Will and Pete got the cow shed painted today. Tuesday December 4th 1888 We got the ironing done before eleven oclock and Mother had started over to Hatties to visit. Adda cleaned while I fixed an early dinner for Will to go to the timber for wood. I fixed my old black dress in the afternoon. Wednesday December 5, 1888 It was a cold windy day. I sewed all forenoon to finish my waists and do the mending. Will went to the valley for a load of wood and in the afternoon got home a quarter of beef and cut it up. I was working on my stand cover.
