Tuesday December 25th 1888 I was not able to sit up an hour all day. Mother went over town and stayed till the folks started home at four oclock Charlie & Ida were over for a few moments. Will went over there long enough to eat his dinner. I had a letter from Coz Jen. Wednesday December 26th 1888 It was gloomy day and rain and snow. Will sat in the room with me a great part of the day. I slept most of the time. Thursday December 27th 1888 Dr Rockey came to see me this morning and I must continue the same medicine. I did not sit up any. The gilrs were over a little while in the afternoon. Friday December 28th 1888 I did not get up today but read a little propped up in bed. We were invited to Holsons tonight but could not go of course. Hatt came over here to spend the eve. John come for her. Saturday December 28th 1888 I was still in bed all day. I had the headache so I could not read. Sunday December 30th 1888 I sat up awhile in the morning and ate my dinner with a little more relish. The girls and Ott were over after dinner Ott came in my room and talked to Will I about Charlie and his money matters awhile. Monday December 31st 1888 I was better of my cough today though weak I was up awhile in the morning. The girls were over in the afternoon. I am growing tired and discouraged being sick. Tuesday January 1st 1889 I got up late and dressed myself. I read a great part of the day. Mother went to town and stayed till after dinner. Ott and Fan brought her home. Wednesday January 2nd 1888 I was dressed all day and helped get supper. Will took Adda home for a vacation and was to get another girl who disappointed him. The girls were here and Hatt went with him and engaged another to come tomorrow.
