Saving...
April, WEDNESDAY, 16, 1862. Last night it rained harder than usual and this morning the waters are all very high they expect the Bridge across the Iowa river will be carried away. It is now after 4 O. clock and no train yet we are awaiting to hear the whistle every moment but no come, as I anticipated I went out calling Last night and staid too Long and consequently I feel rather bad to day, It is somewhat more healthy now than it was some time ago in this part of the country we have nothing to do in the goods line these days so we get up on the counter and take a sleep occasionally.
