April, THURSDAY, 17, 1862. This morning is Cold & Coudy and wares the appearence of snow, or rain- the mail Came in last night after dark it brought some aditional news that Dr. McKee was wounded in the arm, and the casualties generally were worse than anticipated. also news to the effect that the Democrats of Chicago had elected Mr Sherman as mayor and almost their entire Ticket. It commenced raining about 10 O.clock to day again and I guess it never will quit. the mail Just came in not much aditional war news. no letters for me but I have become used to disappointments I will go home and sit by the fire.
