Saving...
May, Tuesday, 13, 1862. This is a beautiful day but not many people in town. The Farmers are all planting corn that is what they should be at these times. we had a very nice shower of rain last night- it revived the grass and trees and vegitables of all kinds. The mail brings no news of importence from the War Department. Unkles George & Dan have both gone a fishing to day and I suppose Mr. Cleaves is napping so I am left alone, but I am not huryed with business. I would prefer having a little something more to do. I wish it would rain a little more for it is very warm.
