Saving...
May, Saturday, 17, 1862. It is now 6 O.Clock in the morning and raining like the Devil. I had made calculations to have a big trade to day but this will nock it in the head. I was at a Party at the Rev Shearers last evening. Miss Shearer sings and plays very well according to my notion of music but it is very evident to my mind that I will never make a singer. No war news of any consequence to day. no letters for me. It is now raining very hard and looks as Iff it would continue to all day, but it will make the corn and wheat grow, so we ought to be content with it.
