June, THURSDAY, 5, 1862. This wears the appearence of a very nice day and I am in hopes we will have a lively time but we can Tell better in the evening. Mr Cleaves is over quite early this morning he looks as Iff he was in a good humor. We had no Important news from the war to day, except that rumor says General Pope came in contact with and Captured 10,000 of the enemy, some place near Corinth Ten, this is the third day since my mother started home I think she will get home Tomorrow Iff she has luck, and now I must go home
