August, FRIDAY, 8, 1862. This morning it is very warm and I have to leave for home this morning and I dont fancy the ride mutch. I left Unkle Tommys this morning and rode hard until noon and then stoped at Libertyville and got my horse shod for his feet had become so sore that He could not Travel and then I rode over to Fairfield and stoped a while and Looked at the City and then I rode over to Salina and stoped for the night with Mr Kyle He is very lonely living without His wife. He is a very fine old Man, a very strong Union Democrat He is right on the Goose.
