was worse, he wrote that he had drawn two months pay and as soon as he drew his clothes he was coming home he was so he walked around the Hospital with a staff we have to regret that we did not go to him at first when he first got to Annapolis but so it is we cant help it now we thought he would be able to come without going after him the letters were so encouraging he had sores on his back, bed sores they had been on ever since he had the fever I suppose you know before this time that he had the yellow fever before he was paroled I wrote to you two weeks ago such good news about him how soon our Joy is turned to Grief we have to Mourn Dear brother as Thousands have mourned the loss of near and Dear friends that have languished in Rebel prisons
