to serve your three years if your life and health is spard but alas how little we know what is befor us. how little did we think that Delass must die so soon when we hurd that he was at Anapolis we thought he would soon be home and here him tell the sad story of captivity and the rongs that he had endured a while in the hands fo those cruel rebels whose tender mercies may be termd cruel but he is gone and we have onely to mourn his sad and lamentable fate wall the boys have come to dinner and and the sap runs first rate I written every 2 weeks since you started from savannah but I dont expect that you will get half that I write I hope you will write to Milo as soon as you can he says that he has not had a letter from you since last April Willy has written and so has Charles since we hurd from you but I think you will as soon as you can I have not hurd any thing from John since he was here I dont why he dose not write and tell us if he is drafted
