drawers & shirts it was very warm in the middle of the day here but cold nights. All of the boys felt very well Delos & I & Dan Gardner & George Mason took the lead of the company & had lots of fun. it was first rate weather. The first day we went by the Battle field where they said Gen Carny was killed through Centrevllle on towards Gainesville We went through Centerville about 2 miles & pitched our tents about 2 or 3 miles the other side of Bull run battle field & stayed all night. We took up our march in the morning at 8. O,clock & went right through the battle field of Bull run. There we saw a great sight for about six miles dead horses all
