in Leon now. Camp between Thorough Gap & Warrento Saturday Nov 8/62 Dear friends I will again try to finish my letter. I did not finish it before we had to march. We had to march yesterday morning about 9 miles we got here about noon we are in about 7 miles Warrenton in a piece of woods, we have lots to eat here now the boys conficicate 5 hives of honey to eaoh Co. & a plenty of Turkeys & hens & lots of mutton & fresh pork & beef & apples a plenty. we expect to march soon from here tomorrow. I will write as soon as we get Settled. I do not get much time to write now. please write soon (Vertically, from bottom left:-) & let me know all of the news, this from your Son M. W. Darling (At head of page:-) direct your letters as before I am in good health & have lots to eat
