(Illustration) U.S.A. General Hospital, Chestnut Hill. Chestnut Hill Hospital Philadelphia July 10th.. 1863.. Dear Friends: I seat myself to write you a few lines in answer to a letter I rec'd.. this morning from Charley and Mother, I got one from Mother a short time since and had written one just before that, so I did not write. I am on the gain some. I begin to help around the ward some. The above picture is a complete one of this Hospital, and each of these small building are Wards each having sixty beds, you will see there is a hall or under walk clear around on the in side end of the wards, so we can walk clear around the inside of the Hospital.
