Indianapolis, Ind Thursday Oct,, lst,,-63 Dear Friends, I seat my self in the State of Indiana to write you a few lines to let you know that I am well and in good spirits. We are waiting to take the Cars. We started from Alexandria Sunday 3. PM. and have been riding on the Cars most all the time since, reached here about an hour ago and having an oppertunity to write a few lines I improve the time I expect you will be greatly disappointed on hearing that we have moved and expect to go to Tennessee but dont know for certain I am not sorry that we are going for I have seen enough of Va,,. last Friday I started from Alexandria with Concripts for the front did not get back till Sunday then our Regiment had gone on this way the Regiment left Alexandria Saturday morning and they are a head of us now passed through here yesterday there is only one of our Co boys here and that Is Leander Johnson. I think
