Camp 154th,, Reg't,, N. Y. V. Goldsborough N.C. March 27th,, 1865 My Dearest Beloved Friends I am once more seated and permitted to write you. I am tough as a bear can eat all my rations though I have enough now. We have been quite busy today building quarters, and now we have got them done and I am writing by Candle light I wrote you a letter four or five days since, just before we went to Kinston for supplies I mailed the letter then and hope it will reach you as soon as possable for I think you must want to hear from me ere this time (about two months). We had a good time going to Kinston, returned yesterday; when we left the corps was four miles from here but while gone they moved to the Town or City; where we shall probaly remain till about the 1st,, of May though I can not tell how long; we need rest and clothing which we shall now get probaly.
