Saving...
And did you write to them how bad off you was for money that made them send it to you. I hear that J. T. Gardner. McCung and Others are trying to rais another Company about Liberty, hope it is so The News in camp to day is that there has been a Strong force sent to North Carolina by water if that proves true I think Mr Jeff Davis may have his hands full soon. If we do not get into a fight soon with the Rebels. I think the Hospital will prove more fatal to our ranks than the enemy. A great many of the boys are complaining and Some have been are quite sick There has been 3 deaths in the last 4 days in the Hospital and of our Own Regiment but none out of our Company. There is 3 of Our Company in the Hospital now but none you know. W. D. Serring has been quite sick but is able to be about. We did not send him to the Hospital but kept him in quarters and took care of him ourselves. I must come to a close as Jim the cook has just Said the Cabbage was done and you Know I would miss that. Tell Newt I will write him by Miller. By the way Geo. Rinehard got a letter from him today but I have not saw it yet. I am glad to hear that you are able to can up some of your fruit but I hope I will be able to eat some of it while it is fresh. See if you cant get wood before bad weather So that it will be dry and you will have on hand. My respects to all. Kiss the children and tell them I will soon look for answers to the letters I wrote them. No more Your Affectionate Husband A. F. Davis
