We ware all glad to see the friends from Liberty as it made us feel like we had again come into a land of civelization.  I received the Shirts, Socks, paper and Suspenders that you Sent me by Mr McWhinney and was truly glad as they are all of an excellent quality and very acceptable and doubly so as comeing from the dear ones at home and many a pool soldier looked at them with a longing eye and turned away with a sigh with no doubt in heart that he could be served so.  Some of my fellow officers made the remark to me that I was very fortuneate in getting things from home for Said they you always get things that are appropriate and they always come at the right time. 
I was truly glad to hear that you had got so that you could be up again part of the time and I hope that by the next letter I will hear of you being Still better and by being very careful of yourself to be Soon well again.
A great many of Our Regt. took the oportunity while at Louisville to take a Spree and many of them ware not on hand when we ware ready to march consequently ware left behind.  Among others there was 12 out of our Company who are Still back, among whom are C. R. Burgess, Ben Keelor R. T. Walton and J. C. Mullins from our county 
There was 5 officers of our Regt. took it upon them
