Saving...
There is a few more sick in the Regt than what there was when I last wrote but still not many and those not bad. I saw Eli Asborn Lamar Lee James Dix and the two Beal boys this afternoon and all are well.. Eli appears to stand it well and appears well satisfied. He has never been to my tent since he came in the service although it is not one 200 yds from his quarters. He Says he is afraid to come for fear he will miss some of the Roll calls and be put on extra duty. Col Wilder of the 17th has been assigned a brigade to command and went today to join it and took his Regt. with him. He goes under Gen Reynolds. Our boys hated to see the 17th go away as the members of this and that Regt have alwas been like brothers to each other. The 17th is Said to be the oldest Regt now in the Service of the Government and ours the second oldest. They date 2 days older than we do. We begin to need a paymaster quite badly but don't know when we will see one but hope it will not be long
