will have to await until I get it from the Goverment before I can pay the balance unless he can sell the Note. You may have to go in debt some for the necessaries of life for a while which is hard for you but I cannot help it. All officers now have to pay cash down for their provision Consequently I have to Keep more by me on that account. So we will have to change awhile and you go in debt while I pay as I go. I also must buy me a pair of boots which will cost me $10.00 here which is quite Steep but I must have them. We Still occupy one old camp. We Struck tents 4 days since and loaded evrything in the wagons ready for a march and lay around all day and at night, we ware to told to put them up again and we done so and evrything has been quiet since. We do not Know why it was done but there is So many oblivious orders given in military
