Pelham Tenn Aug 3rd 1863 Mrs. Sarah Davis My Dear Wife Yours of the 26" ult come to hand 3 or 4 days since but I have been too busy to answer it until now. Oh how glad I was to hear that your health was still improveing and live in hopes that when I next see you I will see you a well woman once more. And then it was cheering to me to hear that the children ware so well. If it was so she could I would be glad if Orrilla could go to School but then it is best as it is and we may be glad that she is able to help you as she does, and then again She has a good Start at school for one of her age, and I do not thing she will loose anything by remaining at home for a while. Tell her to keep up a good heart and it will all come out right. Tell Nan to be a good girl and learn as fast as she can and tell Dolly ~~ well tell her what you please. Oh how I
