Husted writing to me never reached here, consequently I am entirely in the dark as to how the Campaign is progressing. I do not Know even who is on the ticket with Dawson. Therefore I am unable to judge of the Strength of the opposition. But of one thing I am quite confident of that is that he (Dawson) is the Strongest man that they could bring against me and I shall not be at all Surprised if he beats me, but Still I hope for the best.
