Clinton Miss July 17 My Dear Mother I wrote thee once before this week and this is the next mail that goes out - the mails are very irregular going out only every three or four days. When I last wrote thee we were encamped on Black river about 25 miles from here and just as I sealed my letter the order came to move at 5 in the morning and about 4 the next morning I was out of bed and putting my things together and at 5 we were on the way. We cover 10 miles that day I ride in my buggy and Wills orderly drives me and I get along very nicely - The whole Brigade moves at once when they move at all and that makes a long line of soldiers
