thy letters to thee? It will not matter though if thee does not get it for their was nothing in it of importance as I thought it might get there after thee started - How did thee leave Mary - just her & him or was James there too. Did thee tell Mary to keep an eye on the [boxes?] in the stable and see that they were not opened? I do not know as thee can read this but I could not get a pen or ink - and I wanted to answer thy letter right away Direct as usual only posting Vicksburg, Miss. instead of Memphis unless thee has those envelopes yet if thee has just send them as I directed them and they will come all right. Give my love to all the folks - tell them we will come up if we possibly can - The Drs cannot get away now for it is the sickly season - Good Bye - write to us very often dear Mother. With much love thy affec. daughter Laura.
