Saving...
Enough of my labors here to let me remain. for I think it will be much easyer than to remain with the Co - it is true theire is no Show for promotion here. and I cannot see as thair is any Show for me in Co D. Ben Gale is going to Resigne in a short time & then thaire will in all probability be an Election of Officers & unless Col Rice appoints them which he Can do if he wishes to. In the event of an election I am Informed that [?] we are all selected and the places promised to them. the Co only nubers about sixty four men so it is not Entitled to a full set of Officers at any rate. My Board is much Better here that it was when I was with the Co. I Board with what is called the Mon Commissioned Mess there is about Eight of us in the mess we have a Black Woman for Cook one that has been with the Adjutant for over a year. we sleep in the Office which is a double log House with an entry in the middle Col Panotzis Office is in one End. the Quarter master Provo Marshal & Adjutants Offices are in the Other. End. taking it alltogether we are verry comfortably situated for soldiers. but I have got the Blues to day it is so lonsom their is not a sole here that I know except Dennis Morrison. I worked until noon today making out the Morning Report & this afternoon I have devoted to you. I will wright again soon & you my dear do pleas wright often I have not had a line from you yet. give my love to all Saving the Greater portion for Yourself take Good Care of Yourself & Believe me your affitant Husband Frank Malcom
