Though I must say to begin with that I have but little in the way of news. I am Stil in the adjutants office and like my Situation verry wel the dutyes are not hard, and I think after I get better acquainted with the office & officers I wil git along verry wel unless Capt Gale has me returned to Co D which I understand he is trying to do. he Gale told me the other day that he wanted me back and that after awhile I could git an easy birth but did not say what it was. I was told that Col Parrolzi sayed he had use for me here. all the time which I hope is the Case for I assure you this is a much more pleasant situation than standing Guard. on a rainey or cold night. and then the board is better than with the Co. there is Eight of us mess togather viz. Adjutant Cameron, Sergent Major Weyman, Drum Major McIntyer. Sergent Wilson, Chief of Commissary, Wilson, the Sutlers Clirk Mr. Ackers
