Capt" Gale recivd a letter from him a fiew days Since dated in New York City. & in it was a fiew lines to me, Stating that he would write to me when he arrived in Colorado. what his object is I do not know, but I do know that in loosing him, Ft. M has lost a valuable Citizen he done more in the way of Improoving the City in every Respect than one Half of the Business men of the Town put togather. I am glad to hear that property is advancing Hope I will be able to git Cost for our House by the time I return. I must now Close Pleas remember me to Mr. & Mrs Hughs. & all Enquiring friends You must Excuse this uninteresting letter. the fact is, "My dear", I have nothing In the way of news to write I feel as If I had filled a whole Sheet and Said nothing. I think we will be paid off Soon will then Endevor to make you a present. you need not send any more Stamps until I notify you. I Sent to Pulaski & got enough to last me a Short time Write Soon & Give me all the news Love to Mother & Mary & Believe me Your affectionate Husband Frank P.S. You ask about my Knapsack, I have not got one yet. had to make a Box to put my Cloths in, & Draw an Extra Blanket to Keep from freezing. the Weather is quite cool yet. it is Raining & Cold to night 10" Oclock, Good night.
