Saving...
It is hard to tell when Atlanta will be taken I do not think we are any nearer its capture now then we was two weeks ago. the only Advantage that we have gained is that our Army is partialy rested. both Sides are Strongly Entrenched and the final contest if it should come now would be one of the hardest of the War. I have been in the rear with the Office for the last ten days have been quite busy writing and have managed to git my work pritty well Straightened up. I have a good fly Tent and get along fine. The Q.M. & I wer with the Teams about one mile from the Regiment. I am glad You Engjoyed your visit out to Pilot Grove. but do not think you Selected a good day for fleas hope the next trip you will be more Successful. H. W. S. is very Kinde hope you will be able to make them a visit this fall. I Recieved a Letter from John Last week he is at Madison Wisconsin was Sent there with his Regiment, Their time Expired in June and all but 180 were musterd out & Paid off John thinks he will Succeed in gitting his Discharge (Thinks Capt Wilson will assist him)
