Tell you about it So as to let you know that my services are thought to be of some value to our country, even, if I do not carry a muskit Col. Parrott & Sergt" Hamilton have not arrived yet. Though They are expected daily, I do not think The Colonel will Resigne we all hope he will he has always treated me well but I think another Commander would be preferable I do not think a man that drinks as much whiskey as he does should command a Regiment I. D. Hamilton is now 1st Lieutinant of Co "D his commission arrived last week Lieut Morrison was commissiond Captain of the Co. but would not be mustered, So that will make Hamilton Capt. Pretty Good for Davo, We are to be Paid Off This week I was in hopes Morrison would remain until after Pay day So I could send my money home by him, But his brother Dennis has applied for a furlough which he will probably get and I can send it by him, I will forward it to you the first chance that I have that is safe. I hope you will excuse this scrawl my paper is damp & I am awful sleepy & tired. Remember me to all my friends Give my love to mother & Mary. I Send you a paper with some articles in it that I thought would be interesting if you had not read them. Write to me often & Believe me Ever Your Afficinate husband Frank Malcom
