H'd Qrs 7" Iowa Vet Inft In the Field Andersons Plantatation 9 miles South West of Savannah Ga. Dec 17" 1864 My dear Wife, I have the pleasure of acknowledgeing the Receipt of your kinde and affectionate letters of the 6" 13" & 21st of November for which I am much obliged. I am pleased to learn that you are all well and that Jim is with you, am also glad you Received the money that I sent you 170$ you do not mention the amount Recd. but I presume it is correct or you would have mentioned it. I was not sure that it would go through safe but we was on the Eave of Starting on another campaign and I did not wish to cary it with me Knowing it was needed at home so concluded to risk it. we will perhaps be paid again at the End of the year I will then Recieve about 100$ which I will forward to you immediately upon the Reciept of it.
