the nex town was Grenada (the place we started to last winter but failed) it is a beautiful town it is on the bank of the Yallabushey river we stayed there one day none of the towns we passed through wer injured at all we had quite a little fight at Cold Watter we only had one man killed in our scout we killed seven men at the fight we came back by the river it was a nice trip Milt and I are both well I received your letter dated Aug. 15th last eavening. I havent been here long enough to think of any pretty thing to write you said you was afraid I would get home sick telling me about the nice dinner there is no danger of that I wouldent get home sick if I was to stay in the service ten years I have some notion of going in to the regular army what do you think of the idea. they are getting up a larg Cavelry force her they call it the veteran service if I dident want to go to school awhile I think I would try it...but as it is I dont think I will.
