Camp 4th Iowa Cav Nov 8th 1863 My Dear Friend After some delay I will write you a few lines to inform you that I am still alive I have not written to you since some time in Oct, I dont remember just what time. my reason for not writing is I had nothing to write. I have reced two kind letters from you since I last wrote. The past two months have been very dull soldiering for me my horse has given out and I have to stay in Camp the most of the time we are expecting new horses soon. The health of our Company and Regt. is good the troops are generaly healthy. Genl Tuttles Division of troops
