will be done capt and 1st sergeant got back yester day and and brought a greadeal of news for some of the boys I got some olds news now tell Elizza and mart to write a little any how. it does us a good eal of good to hear from home in Alex letter he said how you were disappointed in not seeing us at burlington we would have been glad to see you he said you had some things for us but we dont need any thing we are moving around so we could not cary any thing some of us are straped but we do not need much only to post letters and buy a little bread sometime the rations aint enough for some of us big eaters nothing more but remains yours till death Direct to Jefferson Barracks Care of capt Crab 7th reg Iowa Vollunteers
