861469 Indianapolis Mahaska County Iowa Aug Mondy 19th. 1861 Dear Brother John & Cozen Jim We recived yours of the 10th. on Saturday. We was glad to hear from you for we had not got aletter from you till then We are well at present and hope these lines will find you bothe well and Contented We was much surprised to See Stuart [Orill?] Eliza Marth Pheby & June Palmer on last Friday night Coming in Stuart brought Jim likeness to us we was glad to have something to remember you by as you Jim we have not got yours but would like much to have it Stuart say thet there Company is going to start tomorrow Dave braden is going [Sam?] Palmer & Dave Bob Kilgere & dave bolt I expect you have heard of this ere now the young ones Stayed with us till this morning [John?]
