bell and his Company started today S A palmer J. palmer A and D kilgore J braden [Mc?] paterson Anderson [dave?] [?] [dawson?] [Josiah?] dawson A Mc [Clachen?] Robert tompson george [mitchels?], and smith [?] [taylor?] [John?] boyer has all gone [ther?] is some left J kilgore [J?] palmer and i my self is here yet the boys had [A?] party at Joseph [meaks?] last night there was a man by the name of John Morten shot him self to day he was on the road to the fair ground he walked about 10 steps from the road stoped and fired My best respects to all the boys nothing more at preasant but remains yours M J McDowell
