861579 Washington Iowa Oct the 29 1861 Dear John I received your Leter to weeks or so ago and has never answerd it yet but I will try to answer it now we are all well at present and when these few lines reach you they will find you enJoying the same blessing Samule Black has got back home Elizebth had gon clear down to St Louis to see him and then she aloud to go on home but he had started home before she got there and your Company had gon to birds point and there was not any body there she knowed and she came Back hear and Sam got home one day before Lizzy Mr Crabb is going to start back to his Co to morow and we are going to send these Leters with him and
